Greg Olsen received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at
Austin, M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and B.S. in
Aerospace Engineering from Mississippi State University. He joined the Aerospace Engineering
faculty in 2004, returned to industry in 2009 and returned to the faculty in 2012. He has spent
over 20 years in government and industry as well.

Dr. Olsen’s interests include satellite design, hypervelocity impact, aircraft and spacecraft
systems integration, solid mechanics and fracture mechanics.
