Welcome to the home of the MSU Space CowboysThe Space Cowboys are the rocket design team of Mississippi State University. The Space Cowboys currently are competing in NASA-Marshall's University Student Launch Initiative competition among universities throughout the nation. The Space Cowboys are comprised of primarily undergraduate students from several different majors. Along with USLI competition requirements, the Space Cowboys are well-known for their interaction with the Starkville community in the education and promotion our nation's space program and fundamentals of rocketry. Our outreach program encompasses outreach activities with K-12 students through various programs. We design, build, test and fly high-power rockets for competition and recreation. Official scheduled launch dates will be posted as they become available. The Space Cowboys are proud to announce the Middle School Launch Challenge. This event will feature middle school aged students competing for a $1,000 grand prize at a competition launch to be held on the campus of Mississippi State University.
